What is Asset Finance and is it suitable for my business?
Asset Finance has been used by businesses for many years as a way of funding business assets over a convenient period of time - in certain circumstances it may even be tax efficient (please speak to your acccountant).
Asset Finance is the term used to describe the financing of the asset by the use of a financial instrument such as Hire Purchase or Leasing. Often we are asked to assist clients with Fixed Rate Hire Purchase as they wish to fund the asset for a certain period of time, have ownership at the end of the term and be safe in the knowledge that the interest rate is fixed at the outset.
A Funder will often require a deposit, this could be any amount but is often in the region of 5-10% plus all the VAT on the deal. However in certain circumstances we are able to tailor a deal which allows for a smaller depost and deferral of the VAT.
Terms of the finance generally range between 2-5 years, although for some assets terms of up to 10 years may be considered.
When a Funder looks at your application, they will consider both the financial status of your business combined with the age / suitability of the asset being purchased. The great advantage of using Asset Finance Wales as a broker is that we have access to a panel of lenders which means that the majority of the time we are able to find a lender who is able to help in your circumstances.
Over the years we have helped many different businesses fund a wide variety of assets, from Wales and the rest of the UK. To give you a feeling for the assets which we have been successful in arranging funding for, here is a brief list....it is just a sample:
